Consumer Drug Take-Back Program

The Newman Police Department is proud to announce their partnership in the Consumer Drug Take-Back Program.  This program provides a convenient and safe way for the community to dispose of unused medications.  The kiosk to drop of medications is located at the southwest doors of the Newman Community Center.  Accepted medications include unused or expired prescription medication (Including Schedule II-V controlled substances) and unused or expired over the counter medications.  Schedule 1 controlled substances, illegal drugs, and pet medications, needles, aerosol cans, and thermometers are not accepted.

Electronics Collection Drive Coming Soon!

The City of Newman and Newman Township are hosting a FREE Electronics Collection Drive on April 15th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., or until the dumpsters are full, whichever comes first.  This event is open to city and township residents of Newman.  A water bill or photo ID, with current address, is needed to show you reside within the city or township limits.  A limit of 3 electronic items per household will be accepted.  The event will take place in the overflow parking lot, southwest of the Newman Community Center.  A friendly reminder, please remove sharp items, like blades, from electric knives, needles from sewing machines, or anything related.  We will not be accepting large items, such as appliances, at this event.  A separate event will be hosted in which those items are accepted.

If you have any questions in regards to this event, please contact the City Clerk at 217-837-2312.
